The Switch 2 has already amassed a respectable collection of demos; however, if you were anticipating a similar offering for Capcom’s forthcoming title Resident Evil Requiem, it appears that it will not be occurring…at least for the time being.

In a conversation with Australian gaming website Stevivor recently, Requiem’s producer Masato Kumazawa disclosed that there is presently “no strategy” to develop a demo for public access “at this point”. The team aims to concentrate its efforts on “completing the game”, which is scheduled for release early next year.

“Our development team is diligently working to ensure that it delivers the highest quality game; to guarantee that it is a superb product.”

Although there seems to be no demo anticipated for digital stores leading up to launch, there have already been Requiem demos at events like the Tokyo Game Show. Previous Resident Evil installments, such as Resident Evil 7, have also provided demos to entice players, and Capcom has even offered other game demos on the Switch 2 like one for Street Fighter 6.

Thus, no demo for the time being. If you are keen to witness something prior, here is some portable gameplay we recorded at TGS this year. You can delve deeper into the complete experience in our hands-on preview. Resident Evil Requiem will be released for Switch 2 and additional platforms next year on 27th February 2026.

What are your thoughts on Capcom potentially not providing a demo for this title prior to its Switch 2 launch? Will you purchase it on day one, or are you planning to wait and observe what critics and fans have to say if you can’t try it for yourself? Share your thoughts in the comments.
