Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster was among the limited launch titles for the Nintendo Switch 2 that was not available for purchase when Switch 2 console preorders commenced in April. Listings for the new turn-based RPG from Square Enix have appeared on retailer sites for roughly a month; however, preorders just began on May 6. If you wish to secure the Switch 2’s most economical launch title with a physical copy available for only $40, you can preorder Bravely Default HD Remaster in advance of its June 5 launch.
Bravely Default first launched as a Nintendo 3DS exclusive in Japan back in 2012. An enhanced version followed a year later, with an English localization arriving in 2014.
The physical edition of Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster is one of the numerous third-party titles for Switch 2 that uses the innovative Game-Key Card concept. Although you will receive a physical cartridge, the full game won’t be included on it. You will need to download part of the game file prior to playing.
You can place a preorder for Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster at Walmart, Best Buy, along with GameStop. Preorders should commence shortly at Target.
In addition to the enhanced graphics, the remaster introduces a new fast-forward feature for events, two fresh minigames, and additional content. Since the original 3DS version featured a dual-screen layout, the presentation and menu systems have been revamped to accommodate the Switch 2’s single display. The HD remaster also preserves beloved options like customizable battle speeds and adjustable enemy encounter rates.
Since launching on the 3DS, Bravely Default has seen two sequels: Bravely Second: End Layer for 3DS and Bravely Default II for Nintendo Switch. Aficionados of the series may also wish to collect official art books related to all three games. The Art of Bravely Default II was released by Dark Horse Books in April, and you can already enjoy a 20% discount on the 300-plus page hardcover edition.
