Benedict Cumberbatch is tormented by a giant crow in The Thing with Feathers – see the exclusive first poster

Benedict Cumberbatch’s latest film, The Thing With Feathers, is set to hit theaters next month, and GamesRadar+ has an exclusive initial glimpse at the new film’s official poster.

An adaptation of Max Porter’s acclaimed Grief Is the Thing with Feathers, the forthcoming British film delves into loss through psychological drama and horror components, as the main character grapples with a profound void and significant family obligations. The film is scheduled for release on November 21.

The official summary for the movie states: “After the passing of his spouse, a young father’s grasp on reality shatters, and an eerie entity begins to follow him from the dark corners of the apartment he shares with his two young children. A man-like crow, seemingly animated from the father’s profession as an illustrator, is about to become a very tangible aspect of all their lives, ultimately steering them toward the new form their family must adopt.”

Penned and helmed by Dylan Southern, The Thing with Feathers debuted at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and showcased at the Berlin International Film Festival a month thereafter. Now, there is just a little over a month remaining until spectators can view it on the big screen everywhere.

In other news, Cumberbatch is rumored to reprise his role as Doctor Strange in the forthcoming Avengers: Doomsday, as well as the sequel Avengers: Secret Wars, although he has not been officially revealed yet. Marvel chief Kevin Feige confirmed this year that additional cast members will join those already declared, and Cumberbatch has a solid chance of being among them.
