Battle for Brilliance: The Clash Between Xbox Developers
By This week on the Eurogamer Newscast, we delve into the January 2025 Xbox Developer Direct, which showcases an array of games launching soon on Xbox…and also on PC, with most titles available on PlayStation 5 as well.
Microsoft’s reveal highlighted the cross-platform game Doom: The Dark Ages, along with Ninja Gaiden 4, the surprise release of Ninja Gaiden 2: Dark, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. This lineup underscores the company’s new philosophy that everything belongs to Xbox. However, it’s worth noting that Compulsion Games’ South of Midnight will be an Xbox console exclusive (at least for the time being).
But does any of this truly matter—especially considering that all these games will be available on Xbox Game Pass? And what are our thoughts on what was presented?
