Bandai Namco To Announce New ‘Tales’ Remaster Tomorrow

Update []: Surprise, surprise— the official Tales series YouTube channel has now set a premiere date for tomorrow, 19 August 2025.
This follows Bandai Namco Europe mistakenly pinning the very same clip to launch today. In other words, they likely meant to pencil in a teaser for today so the full reveal could debut the next day. Makes sense? Sort of?
At any rate, we’ll know inside the next 24 hours, because the upload goes live at 3pm BST / 10am EDT / 7am PDT.
Original Story: After months of winks and nods aimed at the Tales faithful, Bandai Namco might have fumbled and tipped its cards prematurely, showing off what the next Tales remaster will be.
Push Square’s report indicates Tales of Xillia is the installment headed for a makeover. The JRPG debuted on PS3 in 2011 (and 2013 in the west), remaining locked to that aging platform ever since—definitely cause for fan celebration.
So how did the news escape? Bandai Namco Europe briefly listed a video premiere labeled Tales of Series News set for 18 August 2025—only to yank it moments later.
Canny observers managed to glimpse the upload before it vanished, namely Lowedeltaa on X and subreddit dwellers.
If you’ve been following the trail, this was hardly earth-shattering: a rating for a Xillia remaster surfaced last summer.
Still, given the vague video title, Bandai Namco might have additional news up its sleeve. And even if Xillia is the highlight, we quietly hope Xillia 2 is included in the bundle.
The curtain should rise on Monday—though we’re a tad shocked it isn’t being reserved for Gamescom’s Opening Night Live on Tuesday…
