“this one will truly be worthwhile”
Professional skateboarder Bam Margera has been officially announced for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 on both the Switch and Switch 2.
Margera’s participation was uncertain due to a series of legal troubles in recent years, but a recent article indicated that Tony Hawk himself advocated for Margera’s inclusion. Now, a behind-the-scenes glimpse has provided us with the confirmation we were seeking.
Margera reflects on his connection to the original game and shares his enthusiasm for the upcoming remake:
The second Tony Hawk title had me so captivated that I often missed flights because of it. “You’re going to miss yet another flight” and I would respond, “be quiet, I’m going to win”! After missing six flights, I finally thought, “I need to stash this thing away” because the game was just too delightful.
“I must allow myself to enjoy video games again, as this one is genuinely worthwhile. If I end up missing flights again, I’ll know where to store it.”
Margera also participated in the recent Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Fest, which highlighted the soundtrack of the new game and offered fans a chance to play some demos. You can catch Margera sitting alongside a fan playing the game in the post below by Stella Chung:
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is set to release on the Nintendo Switch on 11th July 2025. A launch date for the Switch 2 version has yet to be disclosed, but a recent store listing hints it may also be a ‘code in a box’ like Split Fiction and Civilization VII.
