Back Page: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Fit Check
Within the magazine realm, the last page is where you would stumble upon all the quirky blunders that we couldn’t incorporate elsewhere. Some may refer to it as “filler”; we prefer to term it “a complete page for making atrocious puns that are loosely tied to the magazine’s content”.
While we lack actual pages online, our fondness for terrible humor remains — so welcome to our occasional segment, Back Page. This is the second one this week! You fortunate folks.
Today, Jim and Alana are venturing to Kalos for Lumiose City Fashion Week…
What’s the finest aspect of Pokémon Legends: Z-A? The combat mechanics? The capturing? The Wild Zones? The Z-A Royale? No. All those are factually incorrect responses. The ultimate feature of Pokémon Legends: Z-A is acquiring apparel. An abundance of apparel.

I shall not entertain any differing views on this topic. Z-A is far detached from the character customization seen in Baldur’s Gate or Fallout, but who requires 14 varieties of noses, forehead shapes, and body types when you can have berets, wide-legged trousers, and a frilly little bag?
I have devoted more time to my outfit selections than I care to acknowledge, and I’m aware that fellow style enthusiast Alana has done likewise. So join us in commemorating Lumiose Fashion Week (an occasion we invented to divert attention from the Poké Dollars we’ve splurged on footwear) by showcasing some of our preferred outfits.
The event will conclude with a particularly Mega exhibition from one of the game’s starter Pokémon. So if you wish to keep the trio’s new Evolutions as a surprise, this is your spoiler alert to avoid the final reveal.
The ‘Official’ Lumiose City Fashion Show
Alright, it’s not ‘official’, nor is it a ‘fashion show’, but we’ve each been digging through our virtual closets to curate the finest ‘fits we can compile.
And naturally, we’ve chosen our looks based on our cherished teams — what do you think we are? Novices?
Norman’s Lumiose Styles
I typically do not create my avatar in a Pokémon game. I often select a different gender and name from mine and experience the game through a character’s perspective instead.
The exception occurs when the Pokémon game in question presents an array of outfits I would eagerly incorporate into my real-life wardrobe. Thus, Trainer Jim needs to sport a shaggy bob, don glasses, and slay every. single. ensemble.
And here we arrive at my Lumiose collection. It’s less an endeavor to directly replicate my Pokémon and more about resonating with their essence. If those stationary NPCs could turn their heads when I stroll past in my little Gengar attire, they would. If their eyes could follow, I’d capture their attention with my vibrant Feraligatr ensemble.
It’s new. It’s refreshing. It’s fashion.
Feraligatr Fit
My cherished, colorful boy required a striking, bold fit to match. Once you spot that cream stripe peeking as a little exposed belly beneath a crop top, there’s no turning back. Regarding the trousers, they are the finest available in Lumiose, and I won’t entertain otherwise.
Absol-utely Fabulous
Absol is upscale and edgy, so my fit mirrors that. A white leather jacket paired with a turtleneck boldly complements some chino shorts, but those space boots complete the ensemble.
Venusaur ‘Venturing
What is Venusaur if not a streetwear hiker’s fantasy? The cargo pants, thick trainers, and cap are all about showcasing a stylish appearance, while the fluffy sweater enhances the cuddle-factor.
Gengar Get-Up
I envisioned the Gengar fit to appear as if it were floating, thus the vaguely camo bottoms and floral boots. It’s fortunate that I don’t possess one of these beanies in reality; you wouldn’t catch me without it.
Cozy Camerupt
Sure, Camerupt might project a tough demeanor (just examine that frown!), yet there’s something about it that feels warm and inviting — hence the cozy cardigan and wide-legged jeans. I’m color matching a bit, but this one’s all about the vibes.
Ooh La La, Gardevoir
Call off the fashion experts, I’ve discovered my top fit! The whites are elegant, stylish, and pristine. There’s a subtle floral hint in the loafers, on my beret, and in the earrings. Don’t even get me started on that chic accent!
If you spot this duo coming your way in the mall, you better differentiate your azures from your ceruleans.
Hagues’ Kalos Outfit
Alright, first, let’s address the Copperajah in the room — I do not have long blue hair in reality. But this trainer also isn’t
Greetings. This is Kisa, an avatar character I’ve been utilizing for quite some time. She serves as my Warrior of Light in Final Fantasy XIV and, consequently, I’ve become rather fond of her, occasionally letting her venture into other titles.
Anyone who has experienced FFXIV understands that ‘glamour is the ultimate end-game’, so you know we have some fashion skills here.
Anyway, I typically lean a bit more feminine with my appearances, but my team consists of a blend of ethereal, silly, and stylish. How do you harmonize that? Well…
Florges’ Autumn Florals
I acknowledge I opted for florals for Florges… but just a touch. I can’t resist. (I apologize, Miranda.)
However, I didn’t choose completely floral, I selected Autumn floral. I realized I had to complement the grey morning of Lumiose a bit, so a charming sweater and some sneakers pulled everything together.
Eclectic Eelektross
One of the more challenging looks to create, Eelektross’ color palette is stunning, but there aren’t many simple combinations here. The headphones were essential, as was yellow, though I struggle to match Canari’s style effectively.
Stylish Tyrantrum
Chic fossil explorer was my aim here, but Tyrantrum is not exactly going to complement an art deco jumpsuit. A boilersuit paired with a headband, though? Now that’s somewhat adorable.
Hawlucha’s a Hipster
I am not a sportswear enthusiast, so I was most concerned about coordinating Kisa with Hawlucha. Fortunately, bright colors are a lucha libre thing, making them very much a Hawlucha thing. I can manage bright colors; that’s my forte.
Chandelure Elegant
Ghost Pokémon are a blessing for fashion, but there are numerous predictable paths one could take. In the end, Chandelure exudes elegance to me, so a luxurious suit and the hotel decor rendered this the simplest outfit to assemble. Just save those Poké Dollars…
Feraligatr feels Mega Fabulous
The Totodile line has never struck me as fierce — it’s always been a whimsical line that attempts to appear fierce. And I appreciate that the Mega evolution of Feraligatr embraces that.
I cherish Jim’s vibrant red and blue ensemble, but I opted for a more traditional sailor look. Very French.
Those are all the outfits in our A/W 2025 Lumiose Catalogue, but which ones will you be testing on the runway? You can let us know your favorites (and your fashion tendencies) in the upcoming polls, then dive into the comments to share some stylish looks of your own.
