Followers of Astro Bot can once again secure a DualSense Controller inspired by the pint-sized droid. Reservations for PlayStation’s Astro Bot Joyful Limited Edition DualSense kick off on September 12 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET. The refreshed take on the wildly sought-after pad drops October 30.
Although PlayStation hasn’t locked in an official price tag, industry watchers anticipate the same $85 sticker seen on other recent Limited Edition DualSense units. As before, the Astro Bot Joyful variant will be stocked at PlayStation Direct and select national chains. Stateside shoppers can expect it to pop up at Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and GameStop.
True to its “Joyful” nickname, the 2025 refresh tweaks only one detail: Astro’s peepers on the touchpad now mirror the grin he sports on the PS5 box art. Last year’s run showed his eyes as simple rings; the new sketch aligns with his in-game mug.
Beyond that eye-catching shift, the pad is identical to the September 2024 release.
The crisp white-and-blue palette still turns heads, so a reprise was inevitable. Plenty of fans call it the slickest Limited Edition DualSense to date, and Astro Bot’s status as a top-tier 3D platformer—and arguably the finest PS5 exclusive—only sweetens the appeal.
