By Astro Bot from Crew Asobi was honored as the Sport of the 12 months, while Arrowhead Studios’ cooperative shooter secured four awards.
Crew Asobi and Arrowhead Studios dominated at the 28th annual DICE Awards last week, with Astro Bot receiving the coveted Sport of the 12 months title.
The platformer amassed a total of five awards, including Family Sport of the Year, alongside commendations for animation, technology, and game design. Helldivers 2 was recognized as both the Action and Online Sport of the Year and received accolades for its musical and audio contributions.
LocalThunk’s breakout success, Balatro, garnered three awards, including Mobile Sport of the Year and Outstanding Achievement for an Independent Game.
MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Tall Circle also secured three awards, winning Adventure Sport of the Year and earning recognitions for Character and Narrative.
The DICE Awards, organized by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, are decided by the collective votes of the organization’s over 30,000 members.
Additionally, Don James, a long-time veteran at Nintendo of America, received the AIAS Lifetime Achievement Award, while Ted Price, founder and outgoing CEO of Insomniac Games, was inducted into the AIAS Hall of Fame.
