Is another Ubisoft title potentially in the pipeline?
- by Liam Doolan
Ubisoft has previously been associated with plans to deliver numerous games for the Switch 2, so what additional titles might we anticipate aside from Star Wars Outlaws?
A recent listing on PEGI’s platform suggests that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is en route to Nintendo’s hybrid successor. This is visible on the homepage of the PEGI site, but when navigating to the rating details, there is no mention of a version for Nintendo (at least not yet).
This latest installment in Ubisoft’s acclaimed series appeared on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC in March 2025 and has been designated with a ‘PEGI 18’ rating due to its violent content and in-game purchases. Here’s the official statement regarding PEGI’s classification:
Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Consumer Guidance This title is rated PEGI 18, making it appropriate for ADULTS ONLY and unsuitable for anyone under the age of 18. This rating has been applied due to its depiction of graphic violence, acts of aggression against vulnerable characters, and senseless killings.
Game Overview An action role-playing adventure set in ancient feudal Japan, featuring two main characters: Naoe, a young female shinobi, and Yasuke, an African samurai.
Noteworthy Content Issues This game displays graphic violence against human characters, allowing players to decapitate or dismember foes using various weapons. There are instances of violence inflicted upon helpless individuals. Players may also witness hostage scenarios where enemy factions line up restrained civilians for execution. Moreover, players can eliminate innocent civilians in urban environments.
Additional Concerns The game presents opportunities for players to obtain in-game items, including cosmetic bundles and a premium currency known as Helix Credits, which may be worth noting for parents or guardians. Responsible adults should evaluate these offerings prior to making purchases on behalf of minors. It’s important to highlight that the game can be played without engaging in these transactions. Additionally, the narrative includes representations of the Japanese ritual suicide known as seppuku, where characters utilize a blade to take their own lives, set against the backdrop of feudal Japan.
This recent news coincides with Ubisoft’s earlier announcement that Star Wars Outlaws is slated for release on the Switch 2 on September 4, 2025. A new trailer unveiling the second “story pack” DLC for this game has also been made public.
