You might have surmised that we wouldn’t witness Fallout 5 at today’s Fallout Day broadcast, yet some devotees delight in setting themselves up for letdowns. Todd Howard himself was present to help wipe the tears of increasingly anxious RPG fans, providing a glimmer of hope towards the conclusion of the event.

“Although I’m recording this – it isn’t live, and I’m probably watching myself right now from my desk – I’m examining your conversation and that thing you desire and this different thing you seek,” Howard states (via IGN), gesturing at a chat off the side of the screen that presumably clamors for Fallout 5 and perhaps, Fallout Shelter 2: Electric Boogaloo.

At least we received some tangible updates during Fallout Day, with Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition and a New Vegas collectors bundle on the horizon. While those aren’t fresh titles, they do offer polished versions of prior games.
