Ahsoka season 2 is arriving on our screens shortly, with one character poised to take on a larger role in the forthcoming episodes. We’re referring to New Republic General Hera Syndulla, portrayed by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who in the last season had to juggle her responsibilities and allegiance to her comrades while nearly facing court-martial for disregarding orders.
We remain uncertain about what lies ahead for the character in the upcoming season, but Winstead has recently provided an exhilarating update, hinting at a more prominent focus on Hera.
“You know, I’m unsure what I can disclose, other than I’ll be participating in this season a bit more, which is exciting,” she informed Collider. “I’m certainly involved in the action, as you mentioned, a lot more, which was fantastic to see Hera really, sort of like, you know, executing some tasks. So yeah, I honestly, I won’t say much more than that, just because I haven’t received my instructions yet. So I’ll leave it at that. But it was incredibly enjoyable. I just wrapped it up, and it was an absolute joyride. I cherished every moment. Thus, I’m eager for everyone to experience it.”
As Winstead pointed out, production on season 2 has officially concluded. Sabine Wren star Natasha Liu Bordizzo commemorated the milestone earlier this month with a behind-the-scenes snapshot, while leading star Rosario Dawson posted a brief view of the cast wrap celebration on her Instagram stories.
Storyline specifics remain confidential, yet the Star Wars Celebration held earlier this year revealed some thrilling updates about season 2. Dave Filoni disclosed that Admiral Ackbar is returning to confront Grand Admiral Thrawn, while Game of Thrones star Rory McCann steps into the role of Baylan from the late Ray Stevenson. Additionally, Hayden Christensen has confirmed that Anakin will return.
“It is truly spectacular, it’s stunning, it’s exhilarating, it’s adventurous, it’s romantic. It encompasses all that one desires from an epic tale,” Bryce Dallas Howard, who has directed a couple of episodes of the new season, commented during a public speaking event in September.
Ahsoka season 2 currently lacks a launch date. Coming up for Star Wars is The Mandalorian and Grogu, scheduled to hit theaters on May 22. For further details, see our guide to all the forthcoming Star Wars films and series.
