Just over a year since the launch of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, Activision is ceasing its support for the game, which includes its removal from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Activision announced this decision through a written statement on X (formerly Twitter). “Moving forward, we will be narrowing the game’s focus,” Activision stated. Users will no longer find the game available for download on Apple and Google’s stores after May 18, and immediately, players cannot purchase Call of Duty points or Black Cell within the game. Social features are also being discontinued.
Nonetheless, Activision confirmed that servers will still support players who have the game already installed—essentially allowing existing users to continue playing Warzone Mobile even though new downloads and purchases are halted. The company did not specify if or when the servers for Warzone Mobile would be deactivated.
“Players with the game installed by Monday, May 19, 2025, will retain access to the game, including ongoing cross-progression of shared inventories using available content, and matchmaking servers for online play,” Activision noted. “Any unspent COD Points can be redeemed in-game for available content in the Store.”
However, according to Activision’s support page for Warzone Mobile, future content will not be rolled out for Warzone Mobile. Additionally, Activision will not provide refunds for players who purchased CoD Points or Black Cell within the game.
“This decision was reached after thorough consideration of numerous factors, and while we take pride in our achievement of bringing Call of Duty: Warzone to mobile authentically, it has unfortunately not met our expectations among mobile-first players compared to PC and console audiences,” the statement elaborated.
Though this effectively signals the end of support for Warzone Mobile, GameSpot understands that Activision’s Warzone Mobile teams are progressing with other projects.
