A Cherished Dungeons & Dragons Trilogy Set to Make Its Comeback Next Month

Dungeons & Dragons has given rise to a multitude of novels throughout the years, but some of the most well-known are the original Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy penned by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis. Soon, fans will be able to revisit these novels thanks to a brand-new Dragonlance Chronicles hardcover omnibus, representing the first new printing of these works in many years. The book is set to launch on February 4, and preorders are available at a reduced price of just $31.50 (down from $35) on Amazon.

The series is set in the official Dragonlance campaign setting for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons First and Second Editions, which originated from Hickman and Weis’ D&D gaming sessions during the early 1980s. This epic fantasy trilogy follows a group of adventurers as they become entangled in a legendary conflict known as the War of the Lance. The trilogy was released alongside various other official D&D publications set in the Dragonlance universe, which include adventure modules, spin-off board games, video games, and more.

While the Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy served as the foundational narrative for the original AD&D Dragonlance modules, future editions of D&D have also introduced official modules and expansions set in the Dragonlance realm, including the most recent Fifth Edition. Besides the original gaming materials, it has inspired over 190 spin-off novels, including two sequels to the original trilogy: Dragonlance Chronicles: The Second Generation and Dragons of Summer Flame. The latest Dragonlance book trilogy is Dragonlance Destinies, which began in 2022. Paperback copies of the initial two novels, Dragons of Deceit and Dragons of Fate, can be found on Amazon, while a new printing of the third book, Dragons of Eternity, is available for preorder ahead of its March 4 release.
