8BitDo, a firm renowned for producing some of the premier third-party controllers for the Switch, has revealed its latest ‘Pro 3’ version.

Compatible with Switch 1 and Switch 2, it bears a strong resemblance to the Pro 2 – as the saying goes, why repair what isn’t faulty – but introduces a host of capabilities that will ideally validate the $69.99 price point.

To start, we have interchangeable ABXY buttons, making it quite handy for those wishing to remap controls for specific games. The Pro 3 also includes its dedicated charging dock, TMR analogue sticks, L4 and R4 bumpers, two rear paddles, rumble capability, gyro functionality, and hall effect triggers. Incredible!

It is presently open for pre-order through the official site and Amazon, with shipping expected to commence on 12th August 2025.

Here’s a summary of the Pro 3’s features:

– TMR Joystick
– Additional bumpers (R4 and L4)
– 2 Pro back paddle buttons
– Trigger mode toggle
– Hall effect triggers
– Tactile D-pad
– Interchangeable magnetic ABXY buttons
– 6-axis motion control (for Switch and Steam only)
– Turbo capability
– Vibration
– Support for 8BitDo Ultimate Software V2
