Another installment of the Tales JRPG series is receiving the remaster treatment, but this one is a bit more confusing compared to the others. Bandai Namco has declared that Tales of Berseria, which was launched merely nine years ago in 2016, is being remastered for PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and Switch. That’s right, Switch. Not Switch 2.
In the current era of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered and The Last of Us Part 1, the reworking of titles that aren’t even ten years old is not particularly novel. However, adding to the perplexity in this scenario is the existence of numerous older titles in the Tales franchise than Berseria. Nevertheless, Tales series producer Yusuke Tomizawa has recently conceded that revitalizing older games can pose challenges since locating the source code is not consistently easy.

“I feel as though I’ve just completed this game,” stated Zenimax Media QA manager Erik Mabry on Bluesky in reply to the announcement.
“For certain consoles, it is logical; however, you can actually play this on both PS5 and PC,” remarked another Bluesky user.
“So, it seems like Destiny and Eternity have simply vanished, huh?” commented good ol’ Uncle Silver on Bluesky.
“At least now we are completely convinced that Namco will pursue everything EXCEPT remastering/remaking/porting Abyss as the fans desire,” declared
“Phantasia, Destiny 1 and 2, Eternia, Rebirth, Legendia, Abyss, Innocence, Hearts, Xillia 2, and Zestiria all discovered lifeless in a ditch,” states another gloomy reaction.
This reaction demands a visual, so I’ll simply embed the post:

You grasp the concept. My original reaction was more of a profound realization that Tales of Berseria debuted in 2016 and not in, like, 2020-2022, and also that 2016 is nearly 10 years in the past. Nevertheless, those are the truths, and Bandai expresses that the remaster “enhances a memorable chapter in the TALES franchise for contemporary platforms, enabling players to journey through an epic narrative with new gameplay and quality-of-life enhancements.” It launches on February 27.
These represent the finest JRPGs you can engage with today.
