Courageous and with a kind spirit
- by Jim Norman
If you are fond of the delightfully adorable platforming series Dadish, you’ll be thrilled to discover that developer Thomas Ample. Young’s upcoming game, Be Brave, Barb, is introducing even more charming cuteness to the Switch eShop today.
Much like the developer’s previous titles, Be Brave, Barb is a delightful platformer laced with humor. In this adventure, you embody Barb (of course), a slightly anxious cactus (again, of course) on a mission to retrieve her lost book of positive affirmations (naturally). To assist Barb on her journey, you’ll need to manipulate gravity to overcome platforming obstacles and defeat foes, all while tackling nuanced themes such as anxiety and self-acceptance.
This game genuinely appears quite lovely, and at just £12.49 / $14.99 on the eShop, it seems like a perfect way to bring some much-needed joy.
You can find a summary of the game’s main features along with a selection of screenshots below:
– A brand-new platforming adventure from the creator of Dadish
– Gravity-defying mechanics that enable you to glide along walls
– 100 meticulously crafted levels
– 5 challenging bosses
– Questionable therapy sessions
– Numerous positive affirmations to collect
– Secrets and strategies to uncover
– Controller support
– Catchy soundtrack
– Cool low-poly graphics
The latest installment in the Dadish series, Dadish 3D, was released on Switch last year, introducing an additional dimension to its platforming gameplay. Be Brave, Barb looks a bit distinct, to say the least, but if the trailer is anything to go by, the charm remains fully intact.
Are you a fan of Dadish? Will you be trying this one later today?
