“We are continually enhancing the performance”
Cyberpunk 2077 is set to be released on the Nintendo Switch 2 this June, and more significant details are beginning to emerge.
Initially, CD Projekt Purple has verified that the Nintendo version will likely be “entirely compatible with cross-progression” across various platforms.
The game’s social media account has also revealed the performance specifications for Switch 2. It is significantly improving, but the team is aiming for “1080p in docked mode and 720p in handheld mode,” with the game operating at 30-40 FPS “depending on the mode” (performance versus quality).
“We are continually enhancing the performance, but we are aiming for 1080p in docked mode and 720p in handheld mode, with 30-40 FPS. This varies with the mode, naturally (performance versus quality).”
This specific Switch 2 model is reportedly only seven weeks old. It has also been confirmed by CDPR that the Switch 2 version will likely retail for $69.99 / €69.99 upon its release on June 5, 2025.
It is important to note that the physical variant of Cyberpunk 2077 for Switch 2 has been confirmed to come on a 64GB game card and will include the entire game as well as the expansions with “no download necessary.”
Keep in mind that the announcements for the Switch 2 (and its release date) have only just been made, so we are likely to hear a lot more regarding all the launch titles in the upcoming days, weeks, and months.
