W. Maxwell Prince’s vibrant horror series Ice Cream Man is among our top comics for 2024, securing the number 10 spot in our current Best Of list. It has been an extraordinary year for the title, yet exciting developments are on the horizon for 2025. As previously announced, the January 29 release of Ice Cream Man #43 will feature a “One-Page Horror Stories” special, presenting fresh tales from Prince, alongside a lineup of renowned creators in the comic industry, including Grant Morrison, Matt Fraction, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Patton Oswalt, Geoff Johns, Zoe Thorogood, and others. Now, Newsarama is thrilled to exclusively reveal the complete table of contents for this issue, including the exciting news that Morrison will contribute not one but two stories for the special. This edition is dedicated to Zoe Thorogood’s late brother James, with a portion of the proceeds from sales being donated to charity in his memory.

We can also detail a complete story from the issue. ‘Toddler Huge Piano’ by Prince and the Ice Cream Man team, along with teaser panels from Grant Morrison’s ‘Hell Freezes’ and Matt Fraction’s ‘Life By Misadventure.’

“Ice Cream Man #43, our anthology of one-page horror narratives, turned out to be cooler than I could ever have envisioned,” Prince shared with Newsarama in a statement. “I don’t believe I’ve ever witnessed such a remarkable collection of creators in one edition before – truly, some of the best in the history of comics! We have TWO Grant Morrison entries, along with contributions from Matt Fraction, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Geoff Johns, Jeff Lemire, Zoe Thorogood, Deniz Camp, Frank Barbiere, among many others. Plus, we’ve even got a horror story from one of the funniest individuals on the planet: Patton Oswalt. But don’t be misled – his one-pager is genuinely spine-chilling. Our Ice Cream Man creative team, consisting of artists Martín Morazzo and Chris O’Halloran, and I, are incredibly excited that these legends agreed to join our ice cream universe. The final outcome is, I believe, one of the most unique issues of comics I’ve ever seen.”

Ice Cream Man #43 will be released by Image Comics on January 29.
