Chair makers Bouiles honest launched a new standing desk that handiest takes 5 minutes to position collectively
Boulies, a company more widely recognized for its chairs, has recently unveiled its first gaming desk. At first glance, it may appear to be a standard standing surface, yet it has captured my attention for one particular reason – it only requires 5 minutes to assemble.
Available for pre-order for $699.99, the Boulies MagVida is a noteworthy gaming desk contender featuring a dual-monitor configuration that can be arranged in two parts. The standing frame is primarily pre-assembled, so all you have to do is fit a few pieces together, place the 140 x 70cm surface on top, and you’re ready to go. The company claims it should take you 5 minutes, but honestly? As an experienced furniture reviewer, I often find myself taking well over half an hour putting together most items, so anything less than that would impress me greatly.
The MagVida also introduces something called the “EMO System.” No, it’s not aimed at Fall Out Boy fans (like myself), it’s the term for the company’s patented mechanism that allows you to attach magnetic accessories like a cable management system underneath the standing desk. Thus, managing your cables will be quick and convenient, further reducing the time required for you to relax and enjoy some gaming at the desk.
The magnetic system is somewhat reminiscent of the Secretlab Magnus Expert, except that instead of adhering items to the top, you can use modular attachments at the bottom. For the moment, all the extras are geared towards cable management, but there’s also a hook that can hold your gaming headset.
Everything else about the MagVida feels quite ordinary, with the T-shaped legs looking very similar to those commonly used with the Flexispot E7 Pro. The mechanism is built to support up to 120kg, although it can’t quite match the lifting capacity of this standing desk which is rated for 199.5kg. That could be important if you plan to use an especially heavyweight gaming monitor (I’m looking at you, Philips Evnia 42M2N8900, and putting a hefty rig on top), but typical setups shouldn’t be putting these surfaces to their max capacity.
You can choose from a white or black top, so you’re out of luck if you’re a fan of the all-wood look. Nevertheless, for what it’s worth, both of these distinct color options look quite elegant and high-quality, and I can see the magnetic system aiding gamers aiming for a minimalist, clutter-free setup achieve their objectives.

I’ve been experimenting with PCs, gaming consoles, and technology since before I could even talk. Don’t get me wrong, my foray into technology began when I jammed a Hot Wheels double-decker bus into my parents’ VCR, but we all have to start somewhere. I somehow managed to transform into a walking, talking consumer guide during my teenage supermarket job, which helped me discover my career path. So, instead of pursuing my musical aspirations or finishing my University degree, I launched my own retro pop culture blog and wrote about games and technology for various outlets including TechRadar, The Daily Star, and the BBC before eventually landing a role covering graphics card antics at PCGamesN.
