Sony Santa Monica and Gallery Nucleus are joining forces for an exhibition to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of God of War later this month, but don’t expect any new announcements.
“Given such an impressive lineup and the excitement we’ve observed surrounding the anniversary, we want to clarify that there will be no announcements at this event,” Sony Santa Monica stated on Twitter.
The exhibition will take place from March 15-23, featuring a panel of cast members and game developers on March 15 and 22. Although there won’t be any new announcements, participants will have the opportunity to purchase limited edition prints, Fantasy Arcade Cabinets, God of War-themed donuts from Moonbridge, and a Kratos beach towel.
Sony Santa Monica has remained silent about its activities since launching God of War Ragnarok in 2022. However, the studio is reportedly working on its first new IP since the original God of War debuted back in 2005.
There are speculations that the games from the original God of War trilogy are being remastered, with potential announcements expected around the franchise’s anniversary. However, Sony has now confirmed there will be no planned announcements during the exhibition. That said, it is possible that announcements could occur outside of the event.
Bluepoint Games, the studio responsible for the Demon’s Souls remake, was also reportedly working on a God of War live-service game that was ultimately canceled.
