CD Projekt experiences third most attention-grabbing year for income despite no most notable launches in 2024
Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion Phantom Liberty were the significant contributors to revenue last year
CD Projekt has unveiled its financial results for 2024, recording its third most remarkable year in terms of profit despite lacking any major releases.
The studio disclosed a 17.9% decline in revenue to PLN 985 million ($254 million) compared to PLN 1.2 billion ($310.4 million) in 2023.
Its net profit fell by 2.3% from PLN 481.1 million ($124 million) the previous year to PLN 469.8 million ($121.5 million).
Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion Phantom Liberty were the main factors driving sales, generating nearly PLN 600 million ($155.1 million) in 2024.
As of November 2024, Cyberpunk 2077 sales exceeded 30 million copies while Phantom Liberty sold over eight million units.
Additionally, in November, The Witcher 4 entered full-scale production. Project Sirius, a multiplayer game set in the Witcher universe, is currently in the pre-production phase.
The studio announced it has decided to integrate The Molasses Flood team into CD Projekt Red “to ensure better alignment in scope and direction” of Project Sirius.
The Witcher remake, revealed in October 2022, is in the conceptual stage, as is the upcoming Cyberpunk project codenamed Orion.
Furthermore, CD Projekt reported that its development team has grown by 10% to over 700 employees since last year.
