Catly Dev Stunned by AI Speculations
SuperAuthenti also counters blockchain assertions
The team behind Catly, a pet simulation launched at last week’s The Game Awards, has strongly rejected claims that its initial trailer was produced using generative AI.
SuperAuthenti also dismissed rumors that the game might incorporate blockchain technology or NFTs, following associations made with the studio’s co-founder, Kevin Yeung, and various blockchain projects he’s involved with at TenthPlanet.
“We did not employ generative AI to create the video or the game,” the representative stated to IGN.
“In fact, we are quite taken aback by such conjecture. We don’t believe there are any AI tools currently available that could generate a video of that quality. Industry insiders have supported this viewpoint.”
Addressing specific concerns regarding blockchain, the spokesperson elaborated: “Our company/project has never launched any blockchain currency or NFTs. Our company neither possesses nor has it ever possessed any blockchain currency or NFTs.”
Moreover, IGN reports having viewed a trailer and development artwork that appear to substantiate that the trailer was not generated by AI.
However, SuperAuthenti declined to comment on allegations that they utilized AI to create promotional images or assist in their marketing messaging on Steam and their website.
