Captain America: The New World Order’s Credit Scenes: What They Reveal for the Future of the MCU
With Captain America: Brave New World now playing in cinemas globally, you might be curious if this latest Marvel film includes a post-credits scene. More importantly, you may be wondering how many there are, considering Marvel’s extensive tradition with such scenes.
The vast majority of Marvel films typically feature both a mid-credit scene and a post-credit scene, which usually serve as either a teaser for future adventures or a lighthearted joke for fans. Nonetheless, there have been some exceptions over the years, like Loki season 2, which notably lacked any scenes during or after the credits.
So, it’s only natural that you want to know what’s happening with the Captain America: Brave New World post-credit scenes, which is where we come in. Below we have all the details, including how many post-credit scenes there are in Captain America: Brave New World and the specifics of any that appear, along with whether they set the stage for the future of the MCU.

Does Captain America: Brave New World have a post-credits scene?
Captain America: Brave New World contains just one post-credit scene, which appears right after all the credits have rolled, so be sure to stay in your seats until the very end.
Captain America: Brave New World post-credit scene explained
Once the credits finish rolling, we see Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson/Captain America meeting Tim Blake Nelson’s The Leader inside the high-security prison, the Raft, where he ended up following that thrilling final act (which you can read more about in our Captain America: Brave New World ending explained).

In this tense encounter, The Leader asks Sam, “Do you want to know what’s funny?” however Captain America is not in the mood for the villain’s humor. However, The Leader isn’t truly interested in offering Sam any comedic relief; instead, he has a foreboding warning to share.
He tells Cap: “We share the same world, don’t we? This world that you will fight to protect. It’s coming. I’ve seen it in the visions, clear as day. All you heroes defending this world, do you think you’re the only ones? Do you think this is the only world? We’ll see what happens when you have to defend this place from the others.”
The scene concludes with Cap giving The Leader an intense, apprehensive gaze – and he’s right to be worried. This interaction teases the forthcoming film Avengers: Secret Wars, which will follow Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
This is because The Leader appears to allude to other worlds in his dialogue with Cap, indicated by his references to “this world” and “the others.” And if you weren’t already aware, in the 2015 comic book run of Avengers: Secret Wars, villains known as The Beyonders are attempting to collapse the multiverse through incursions (instances when universes collide, making them unstable). The fact that The Leader suggests that other worlds may soon be colliding with ours seems to be setting the stage for this storyline.
This is not the first time groundwork has been laid in the MCU for Avengers: Secret Wars. For instance, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we witnessed an incursion destroy a universe. Additionally, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Loki season 2, and The Marvels all included plots that explored the multiverse as well.
As filming for Avengers: Secret Wars is set to commence next summer with a scheduled release date in May 2027, we can expect more teasers like this to appear.
