Monster Hunter Wilds art director Kaname Fujio states that Capcom is employing the finest features of Monster Hunter Worlds to ensure new enthusiasts genuinely feel as though they have discovered a fresh home in the franchise.

During the PC Gaming Show Most Wanted, Fujio remarked, “it’s true, [Monster Hunter] World has reached a vast audience. Witnessing individuals become devoted fans of the game is incredibly meaningful for us, because through Monster Hunter, we can convey the game design and creativity that we deeply cherish. And for people globally to truly appreciate it has greatly boosted our confidence.”

“Regarding Wilds,” he adds, “within that, we are significantly building upon the elements that were well-received in Worlds and pushing it even further into that universe. We aimed to ensure that those who develop an interest in Worlds can now sincerely embrace the franchise.”

Austin recently journeyed to Japan for our Monster Hunter Wilds extensive preview, where he shared that Capcom had addressed nearly all the concerns he had with the latest Monster Hunter Wilds beta – including the flawed hitstop modifications – and that it now truly resembles a sequel to Monster Hunter World. Since its debut in early 2018, Monster Hunter World has sold over 25 million copies, becoming the best-selling game in Capcom’s history and helping to shape the future of the series. For Fujio, that new destiny appears incredibly promising.

I spent 5 hours with a fresh version of Monster Hunter Wilds and it resolved practically every issue I had after trying the beta – now this truly feels like Monster Hunter World 2.
