Capcom’s Ambitious Revival Plans: Unleashing New Life into Classic Franchises

Capcom is aiming to bring back more of its inactive franchises following the announcement of an Okami sequel and the revival of Onimusha last week.

In a statement regarding Onimusha: Job of the Sword on the company’s investor relations webpage, the publisher suggested that additional classic intellectual properties will make a comeback in the years ahead, although it refrained from specifying particular titles.

“Alongside regularly launching significant new games each year, Capcom is concentrating on revitalizing inactive IPs that haven’t had a new title released in a while,” the publisher stated.

“The organization is striving to further increase corporate value by utilizing its extensive content library, which includes resurrecting previous IPs like the two titles mentioned above, to consistently produce highly efficient and top-notch games.”
