Necrosoft Games is arranging an itch.io charity bundle to assist those affected by the California wildfires and invites developers to submit their games for inclusion.
Submissions are currently open but will close on January 19, 2025. Necrosoft Games founder Brandon Sheffield shared that all funds raised will likely be contributed to the California Fire Foundation.
“They assist fire survivors with financial aid, including resources to rebuild homes, obtain temporary accommodations, and more,” Sheffield mentioned, discussing the charity’s efforts. “They also provide support for families of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty, as well as grants for community organizations that work on long-term recovery in impacted areas.”
Sheffield stated that the California Fire Relief Bundle could potentially benefit individuals affected by the fires by offering immediate financial support and grants to reconstruct communities. He plans to launch the bundle on January 20 and emphasized that the call is for paid products only.
“We are encouraging game developers, tabletop creators, and anyone who produces paid products on itch to submit their work for this bundle,” Sheffield added. “Our intention is to create a bundle for a good cause, but some may purchase it because of the perceived ‘value.’ An increase in free games dramatically complicates the vetting process on our side, so all free submissions will be declined.”
Sheffield has previously organized or been involved in charity bundles to support Ukraine and Palestine.
You can find additional details about the bundle, including information on how to submit your title and an extensive FAQ, on the Itch.io website.
