“Bloodborne Fans Rejoice: PS4 Emulators Bring Long-Awaited Remaster to Life”
At this moment, “Bloodborne 60fps” evokes similar sentiments to “bargain rental” or “werewolf-human interactions” for me – it simply doesn’t exist, though I truly wish it did. With this in mind, dedicated Bloodborne enthusiasts and modders have united to develop a remarkably effective PC emulator that may not be the ideal solution, but at the very least resembles it.
As illustrated by Digital Foundry in a recent YouTube video, the latest shadPS4 emulator successfully enhances nearly all aspects of the decade-old Bloodborne to 60fps – except in areas such as the gritty Central Yharnam, where shadPS4 struggles to manage the densely populated, shaggy beasts, temporarily dropping closer to 40fps.
Nevertheless, shadPS4’s current state avoids crashes at its native 1080p, or at 1152p, if your PC is capable of supporting it. Moreover, numerous incredibly impressive mods contribute to making the experience feel like a true remaster.
Fromsoftserve’s Bloodborne Remaster Project brings adjustable enhancements to the richness of the game’s numerous shadows, softer and more realistic lighting, and it reduces aliasing in the action RPG. In a recent video, the creator fromsoftserve showcases subtle, additional modifications that also create a significant visual impact; the fog appears more diffuse compared to the original, and fromsoftserve has upgraded some textures through an ongoing effort to incorporate parallax occlusion mapping.
“I just completed my first full playthrough on the emulator,” a commenter shares about shadPS4 on Digital Foundry’s video. “Since I fell in love with Bloodborne nearly a decade ago, I always wanted this game on PC, especially at 60fps. Although the developers may not see this, I just want to express my gratitude for making my dream come true.”
