In addition to updates and complimentary DLC
The recently launched combat game Blazing Strike premiered on the Switch in October of last year, and publisher Aksys Games has now provided insights into what to expect for 2025.
The plan is to release a “lobby/spectator update” in “mid-February,” which will be succeeded by a crossplay update in the “upcoming months.” The previously announced character, known as Antonio Calavera, will be available as complimentary DLC “this Spring,” and there will also be a new challenger arriving later this year.
When this game launched on the Switch last year, we described it as a “charming tribute to the fighting game community,” awarding it eight out of ten stars. It is priced at $39.99 / £34.99 (or the equivalent in your region) on the Switch eShop, and physical copies should also be available.
“One might argue that, crafted in Unity, Blazing Strike is already impressive; however, the fact that a single individual largely developed it is truly extraordinary. Original and visually stunning, the diversity in its extensive character roster feels refreshing and exhilarating. It’s not a title for complete beginners, but casual players and enthusiasts will find its Rush system to be an engaging and effectively executed combo mechanic.”
