Today marks the launch of Beyond the Ice Palace 2, and no, you’re not daydreaming — this is a continuation of the 1988 Amiga, Commodore 64, and ZX Spectrum platformer.
Presented as a Soulslike Metroidvania, Beyond the Ice Palace 2 tasks you with retrieving the chains of the Cursed King who has escaped from confinement. Featuring skillfully enhanced combat and platforming along with some truly impressive pixel art, it skillfully revamps the foundational formula set 37 years ago to fit a more contemporary style.
While the digital version is available today on Switch and other platforms, a physical edition will be released shortly on March 13th. In the UK, you can pre-order this from co-publisher PQube.
