Shatterscarp is the third location that you can explore during your journey in Avowed. It is home to Thirdborn, a settlement teeming with misfits, pirates, and outlaws. Shatterscarp is arguably the most perilous area in the Living Lands, as the Dreamscourge has entirely overwhelmed the population and a dangerous Archmage is consuming entire sections of the map.
Despite all the turmoil, there are some spectacular sites and plenty of lore to discover beyond the primary story quests. To simplify your experience in Shatterscarp, we have taken the effort to thoroughly uncover the entire map, enabling you to see where everything is located and how to get there. The guide below will illustrate the revealed map as well as notable points of interest that you may want to visit in Avowed.
Complete Shatterscarp Map in Avowed
Unlike other locations in Avowed, Shatterscarp is anchored by its hub town, Thirdborn. Instead, Thirdborn is a small settlement that lies along the coast on the southern edge of the map. Central to Shatterscarp is a massive mountain that you cannot traverse, necessitating a detour around it if you wish to explore the expansive areas within the location.
Overall, there are five main regions that you can discover in Shatterscarp, and they are:
- Thirdborn
- Grand Sand Sea
- Ancient Lakebed
- Shark’s Teeth
- Deadfall Highlands
While there are numerous other significant areas to explore during the story, these are the primary five sections of the map. They all encircle the towering mountain throughout Shatterscarp, so it’s advisable to follow the main road (marked by pink dotted lines on the map) if you want to navigate efficiently.

As always, Thirdborn remains obscured since it has a separate map that appears once you enter its front gates. The only other section of the map that’s hidden is the central mountain, but you’ll see there are a few small locations you can discover that let you get a glimpse of the massive rock.
Shatterscarp Key Points of Interest
Shatterscarp does not have nearly as many fast travel beacons and waypoints as Dawnshore or Emerald Stair in Avowed. Consequently, you may find it challenging to navigate the map quickly. There are only five fast travel beacons and four camp waystones available.
This may discourage you from exploring the map, but believe us, there is plenty to discover and do in Shatterscarp. Below, we’ll list some of the essential points of interest and where they can be found on the map.

- At the top of the Broken Crown Rock to the north of the Grand Sand Sea
The Sign
- Atop a cliff at the Twin Offerings Falls, located in the southern part of the Grand Sand Sea and to the west of the Sand Sea Oasis
Pargrun Cache
- If you wish to obtain some unique rewards in Avowed, visit the Pargrun Cache in the southeastern region of the Shark’s Teeth area. Here is also where one of the Totem of Revelations items is located.
