“Delta? Are you there, Delta…”
- by Alana Hagues
Atari is unable to cease reviving its classic arcade games for now, and we are here for it. This time, the iconic developer and creator has collaborated with Canadian studios Mighty Sob and 13AM Games to reintroduce the 1980 shoot ’em up Missile Command.
Missile Command Delta is a fresh, flip-based strategic adaptation of the series that combines tactical gameplay with elements of mystery and puzzle solving. It is a significant departure from what we are accustomed to with Missile Command, but the developers are striving to maintain the “tension and suspense of the original arcade experience”.
One wrong move could potentially lead to your downfall as you navigate your way through a missile crisis. You might need to examine every document and eavesdrop on every conversation if you wish to survive.
Missile alerts will interfere with your activities in the bunker as you attempt to unravel the mystery of this Cold War-themed game.
Missile Command has undergone numerous iterations and rereleases throughout the years, and this title was instrumental in launching Atari’s Recharged series back in 2020. This may not be what we are familiar with, but we are certainly intrigued by it.
