Selections, alternatives
Today’s impressive Nintendo Switch 2 Announcement has just concluded, and while a price was not revealed during the showcase for some reason, it has now been confirmed that it will be sold at $449.99 – or $499.99 with the new Mario Kart included.
This is quite expensive for a Nintendo console, and it likely sets the cost in line with the forthcoming ASUS Xbox handheld, which is rumored to be priced somewhere within the $499 – $599 range at launch.
Here’s what Windows Central mentioned about this a short while ago:
“…a base model estimate of between $499 and $599 potentially.“
This makes things intriguing! No one is expecting an ASUS Xbox handheld to surpass the Nintendo Switch 2 in sales, of course, but it may also create some dilemmas for Xbox enthusiasts who have to choose between one or the other.
In my opinion, I’m significantly more interested in what ASUS and Xbox are developing right now – but then again, I admit I’m partial! At the same time, I genuinely enjoy my Switch 1, but the Switch 2 pricing did not impress me much.
So yeah… your move ASUS! Let’s see what you have to offer, as time is running out before the Switch 2 launches on June 5th.
