Arrowhead CEO Aims for A-List Talent in Helldivers 2, Promises No One Escapes Unscathed

The developer of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead, may not have much authority over Sony‘s cinematic adaptation of its brutal third-person shooter, but if it were up to studio CEO Shams Jorjani, the film would feature a plethora of deceased stars.

“We’re all hoping for as many top-tier actors as we can get,” Jorjani expressed in the Helldivers 2 Discord when asked about fans casting Chris Pratt as an acid-spewing Bile Titan. “As long as they all meet a violent end right away.”

While I might personally be intrigued to witness a well-known actor like, say, Jacob Elordi courageously joining the Helldivers’ righteous battle against evil after perhaps proposing to me, and then dramatically holding my black-and-white portrait as his striking figure is, tragically, squished by a Devastator… or something along those lines… it remains uncertain who will star in the forthcoming Helldivers adaptation.

Nonetheless, as I’ve mentioned, it appears that Arrowhead may not hold substantial sway over how Sony’s film is shaped. Studio CCO Johan Pilestedt recently tweeted that, although Arrowhead will certainly be involved in the film’s creation, “the long answer” regarding the extent of that influence “is that we will see.”

“We are not part of Hollywood,” he added, “and we don’t understand what it takes to produce a movie.”
