Indeed, it has been quite enjoyable
We’re still recovering from the New Year festivities here at Nintendo Life, but in case you missed it – the Wario Land-inspired platformer Antonblast finally launched on the Switch last month after a few last-minute delays.
While we’ve already published our written review, our video review has now gone live and our fantastic senior video producer Alex Olney has shared his insights which you can now watch in full (above). If you prefer a brief overview, here are his concluding thoughts:
“Thank goodness we have indie developers like Summitsphere creating these remarkable adaptations of Nintendo games that we might not see otherwise… I would argue that despite some performance hiccups here and there, this is nearing Nintendo’s quality – it’s truly excellent.”
Another significant highlight is that the performance upgrade is now available for the Switch version of the game. This “blastmas miracle” (in the developer’s words) was released around Christmas and raises the framerate up to 60fps. It also includes various other fixes!
If you haven’t tried this game yet, there is also a demo available for download from the Nintendo Switch eShop.
Have you had a chance to experience Antonblast on the Switch yet? How are you finding it after the most recent update?
