Going commando in two months

Commandos: Origins, the revival of the classic stealth RTS series, now boasts an official release date in 2025. The title for Xbox Series X|S & PC is set to launch on April 9th, and as previously announced, it will be available from day one on Xbox Game Pass.
Origins signifies the series’ first all-new installment since the mid-2000s, following a few popular remasters that were released in 2022. Here’s how Jürgen Reusswig, director at Claymore Games, articulates the excitement of finally securing that release date for Commandos: Origins:
“After more than four years of establishing a new studio, design and development, along with invaluable feedback from various playtests, operation ‘Release’ is officially on for Commandos: Origins. We are proud and thrilled that players will now have the opportunity to experience the origin story of the elite unit that launched this iconic franchise.”
While the initial digital release for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC is happening this April, we also have a timeline for several other editions of the game. A physical version of Commandos: Origins is scheduled to launch on May 22nd, followed by last-gen versions becoming available on digital platforms sometime in 2025 – including Xbox One.
We do not yet have confirmation at this moment if the Xbox One version will be available on Game Pass, but Series X|S players can dive in through the service on April 9th, and the game is expected to be accessible via Xbox Cloud Gaming for those still utilizing the last-gen console.
