Recent images suggest that the acquisition may result in additional job reductions.

Former employees of Annapurna Interactive have allegedly obtained the indie label Deepest Division’s portfolio after establishing a new company.

According to Bloomberg, the undisclosed organization has reportedly acquired franchises such as Kerbal Space Program from Haveli Investments, a private equity firm based in Austin, Texas, which purchased Deepest Division from Take-Two at the end of the previous year.

The new company might also consider obtaining distribution rights for Game Freak’s forthcoming, yet-to-be-announced title and the Lord of the Rings farming game, Tales of the Shire, set to launch in March.

Bloomberg further noted that, as a result of the acquisition, layoffs could occur among the approximately 20 Deepest Division employees who transitioned to Haveli; however, it remains uncertain how many individuals might be affected at this time.

The majority of the Annapurna Interactive team departed following the breakdown of talks with their parent company back in September.

During the negotiations, the team reportedly discovered that Annapurna Interactive co-founder Hector Sanchez had been “quietly rehired” as the president of interactive and new media by Annapurna Pictures CEO Megan Ellison, and was working on “gaming projects without the knowledge of the rest of the Interactive staff,” causing confusion among the team.
