Amazon Unveils Trailers for Secret Level as Enthusiasm Builds for Harmony Episode
Before December begins.
Amazon’s intriguing Secret Level anthology series is nearly here, featuring 15 episodes of new stories set in well-known gaming universes. Following its latest series trailer, Amazon is now unveiling individual teasers for each episode, providing a closer look at titles such as Spelunky, Unreal Tournament, and, of course, that posthumous take on Concord.
If you’ve somehow missed it, Secret Level hails from the creative team behind Netflix’s sci-fi anthology series Love, Death & Robots. Similar to that show, Secret Level revolves around striking CGI animation, but here, the episodes draw inspiration from recent video games—featuring familiar settings and characters in new adventures instead of classic sci-fi narratives.
Armored Core, Concord, Crossfire, Dungeons & Dragons, Exodus, Honor of Kings, Mega Man, New World: Aeternum, Pac-Man, Sifu, Spelunky, The Outer Worlds, Warhammer 40K, among several PlayStation Studios titles, all feature in Secret Level’s debut season, and we’ve seen brief glimpses of most of these already. However, as part of its extensive pre-launch campaign, Amazon is now showcasing each individual episode on social media, releasing short 20-second teaser trailers that reveal much more than what has been previously shown.
Concord, shown above, stands out as arguably the most captivating of these, mainly because it serves as an unexpected tribute to Sony’s ill-fated 5v5 shooter Concord—in an episode where Secret Level creator Tim Miller recently discussed how it showcases the “potential of this world and the characters.” But there’s more on offer, with Amazon also giving a peek at The Queen’s Cradle, based on Dungeons & Dragons, as well as Sifu’s It Takes a Life, Unreal Tournament’s Xan, the Spelunky inspired Tally, and And They Shall Know No Fear—which is a sequel to the events of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2.
