“Something is on the horizon…prepare yourself”

Xbox studio Blizzard has revealed that its BlizzCon event is taking another year off, having skipped 2024 – and the convention’s 2026 edition will “significantly enhance this iconic celebration”, according to the team.

In a fresh announcement post, the World of Warcraft developer states that attendees can expect “classics such as Opening Ceremony, detailed panels, the Darkmoon Faire, friendly competitions, hands-on gameplay, and much more” to return for BlizzCon 2026.

“BlizzCon is coming back! The ultimate celebration of our games and the community that connects us will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13, in 2026.”

Alongside this announcement, Blizzard has already unveiled a trailer for the event, which we have embedded above – and it certainly suggests some major revelations for the show. The studio teases, “something is on the way…prepare yourself”, with fans already buzzing with speculation about what Blizzard might unveil at the event next year.

While we have quite a wait until next September, it’s clear that here at Pure Xbox, we hope to see the team make some significant console announcements. It feels like forever since we’ve been anticipating WoW to arrive on Xbox, and given the team’s recent survival game cancellation, we are eagerly anticipating what might be revealed at BlizzCon 2026.
