Is it a continuation or the television series?

We’re currently in the timeframe just a few weeks ahead of The Game Awards where some publishers are promoting their announcements – while others are simply leaking information online.
As an example: industrious enthusiasts have uncovered a trademark registration by Finnish company Remedy for Control Resonant.
To give acknowledgment where it’s warranted, the filing was actually submitted by a firm known as Nordia Attorneys at Law, which MP1st highlights is the same entity handling all of the Max Payne creator’s trademarks.
Taking into account the name connection and the fact that the registration specifies “video game services” among its categories, it’s quite straightforward to piece everything together.
However, while we’re aware that the developer has been developing a sequel for a while, a recent roadmap indicated that it’s focusing primarily on its Max Payne remakes alongside Rockstar at this time.
This might be linked to Control’s television adaptation in collaboration with Annapurna, which would also likely be a suitable candidate for an announcement at The Game Awards, to be honest.
The show’s expected to commence on December 11th, so we won’t have to wait long to discover the outcome.
