“We persist in broadening Xbox Cloud Gaming…”

As part of today’s November 2025 Update, Microsoft has revealed new features for Xbox Cloud Gaming, which includes a new ‘User-Selected Resolution’ setting providing “improved streaming quality for certain titles”.
Indeed, following observations by Digital Foundry, noting that some Xbox Cloud Gaming titles were now streaming at resolutions up to 1440p, Microsoft has validated the resolution enhancement; now introducing the ability to “select your desired video quality while streaming games”.
“We’re thrilled to unveil enhanced streaming quality for specific titles, which includes support for resolutions up to 1440p. With this improvement, we’re allowing you to select your preferred video quality when streaming games, offering you greater control over the experience. User Selected Resolution permits players to manually designate their chosen streaming resolution prior to launching a game. This has been a leading request from players, and we’re delighted to implement it alongside support for better streaming quality (up to 1440p for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers). This guarantees that players can customize their subscription to fit their playstyle and environment.”
In connection with this November update to Xbox Cloud Gaming, the team has also disclosed that the service is now available in India – and on LG TV and Amazon Fire TV devices in Brazil and Argentina. These new features are available immediately, while Xbox Cloud Gaming will shortly be accessible on an increasing number of devices overall.
These devices will support cloud gaming via the Xbox app “soon”:
- Fire TV Stick 4K Plus
- Fire TV Stick 4K Select
- Fire TV 4-Series TVs
- Fire TV Omni QLED TVs
