Hard luck

An image is starting to emerge regarding Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and for the leaders at Activision, it isn’t particularly appealing.
What we are predominantly observing from all the statistics we possess up to this point is that the first-person shooter is performing considerably worse than Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and has launched far beneath Battlefield 6.
Now, we have some figures for Spain that allow for a direct comparison.
Thus, across both physical and digital platforms, Black Ops 7 sold 29,026 copies during the week ending 16th November. To provide some context, Battlefield 6 achieved 86,551 copies in its opening week, concluding 12th October. That represents a gap of 66%.

This aligns with what we are hearing about Europe as a whole, where Black Ops 7 is reported to be roughly 63% behind Battlefield 6’s launch across the continent. The franchise also recorded its poorest-ever physical release in Japan.
This indicates that all focus will now be directed towards the US, and whether it can compensate for these deficiencies globally.
