With merely a week remaining until Assassin’s Creed Shadows debuts on Switch 2, Ubisoft has refreshed the game’s eShop page with some significant details to consider prior to making a purchase. For instance, the concerning file size.
As per the revised listing, Shadows will occupy a substantial 62.8 GB on your device. While this isn’t the most shocking news given the game’s scale, it’s a detail worth monitoring as we approach the launch.
For comparison, this file size places Shadows above titles like Cyberpunk 2077 (60.6 GB), Madden NFL 26 (57.1 GB), and Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut (45.3 GB), but it remains decidedly lower than Split Fiction (69.2 GB) and the forthcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (90-95 GB). Not a catastrophe, then, but it might be wise to start searching for a Micro SD Express if you’re aiming to have several of these titles in your collection.
For those who overlooked the original announcement, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to launch on Switch 2 on 2nd December, featuring cross-progression saves, touchscreen capability, and all the title updates you could desire — aside from the Claws of Awaji expansion, which you will need to wait until 2026 to access.
