Shujinkou astonished us all when it debuted on Switch in October, introducing its distinctive mix of dungeon-crawling RPG dynamics along with the opportunity to learn Japanese via combat to the hybrid platform after its earlier launch in February. Now, developer Rice Games is continuing the educational journey with a launch for the game’s extensive soundtrack, which has just been released as a digital download.

Available on Bandcamp, Steam, and the Rice Games store for £19.99 / $25, the soundtrack boasts an impressive 158 tracks, offering nearly seven hours of dungeon-crawling melodies. Chief composer Brian LaGuardia includes a variety of styles, featuring battle themes, character motifs, and minigame soundtracks that traverse genres from classical to metal, rock to jazz.

This all originates from an ensemble of over a dozen live musicians, with the compilation expertly mastered by Ryuichi Tanaka of Warner Music Japan — the very same mastering engineer you’ll find associated with multiple Pokémon music collections.

As anticipated, you can also stream the complete collection on platforms like Spotify, Amazon, and YouTube, and there’s a physical edition on the way, too, with a seven-CD Collector’s Edition set to be released at some point in 2026. The price has yet to be revealed, but keep your eyes peeled for updates.

If you haven’t seen it, Shujinkou is a dungeon crawler that allows you to learn Japanese while playing. A patch released at the end of October introduced a Visual Fidelity mode, enhancing the visual experience on Switch 2, in addition to resolving various other issues. We’ve recently included expanded impressions in our review of the game, so if this unique language-learning RPG piques your interest, take a look.
