Employing your preferred screenshots

The Welcome Hub has emerged as a significant component of the PS5 experience, providing customizable widgets that enable you to display “at a glance” details that are relevant to you.
A recent enhancement introduced a segment for your most recently played title, outlining how many sessions you’ve initiated in total and the duration you’ve spent gaming in general. Additional widgets for your wishlist, companions, Trophies, and more are also available.
Moreover, Sony has been enriching this section with animated backgrounds inspired by popular first-party titles like Stellar Blade and Ghost of Yotei. Recently, seasonal animations have been added that will change based on the time of year.
Now, as part of a new beta trial identified by YouTuber Mystic, the company is experimenting with several enhancements.
The first feature is a sort of idle mode, which will dim all the widgets and merely showcase the animated background akin to a screensaver when you’re inactive. Mystic points out that while the feature is intriguing, the screensaver will only activate if you’ve accessed the Welcome Hub, making its utility somewhat diminished.
The second addition is a slideshow-style background capable of utilizing your favorite screenshots. You can modify the transitions of the wipes and the pace at which the image changes.
These are delightful new features, which will likely be deployed universally in the near future, hopefully with a bit more refinement. What are your thoughts on these modifications, and are you pleased with them? Share your opinions below.
