Announcement []: It appears we may have uncovered the truth behind this enigma. Based on several online listings, Capcom is set to provide “Lenticular Editions” of Resident Evil Requiem across all systems. Therefore, it will not only be for the Switch 2 but also the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the title.
A few listings characterize this as a “case sleeve” or “card” (showcasing what is essentially a shifting image, depending on the perspective from which you view it). This identical kind of card has also recently appeared in official Capcom promotional content for the ‘Deluxe Edition’ of the game.
Some online listings outside the US additionally display the Switch 2 game case with cover artwork aligned with its PS5 and Xbox equivalents. Thus, it appears there may not be any preferential treatment for the Switch 2 version in this area.
We will keep you informed should we receive any further updates or changes.
Initial Report: When the Switch 2 edition of Resident Evil Requiem launches next February, Nintendo enthusiasts can anticipate several bonus items, such as a limited edition Pro Controller and eventually a themed amiibo.
As noted by various Nintendo fans online, it seems there could be an additional surprise. If you haven’t yet witnessed the title’s cover design for the Switch 2 standard physical edition, it’s reportedly appearing a bit “distinct” from the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.
As illustrated below, the cover design displayed for the Nintendo edition showcases the game’s main character, and FBI intelligence analyst, Grace Ashcroft.
As emphasized by Nintendo Everything, although the standard edition may reveal different cover art here for Switch 2 physical versions, it seems Capcom has utilized the same design for the Deluxe Edition of the title.
This cover shown here for the Switch 2 standard version has sparked various speculations online, so if we discover anything further, we’ll update you. On Switch 2, Resident Evil Requiem is expected to provide the same gameplay experience as other platforms and will also launch simultaneously on 27th February 2026.
It has also been previously verified that the physical Switch 2 version uses a Game-Key Card. Capcom will additionally have a special ‘Generation Pack‘ available, which will include the new game, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and Resident Evil: Village (launching for Switch 2 on the same date).
