“We genuinely apologize to all those who have been waiting”

Guilty Gear -Strive- Nintendo Switch Edition debuted earlier this January, but enthusiasts on the hybrid console felt neglected when the latest DLC and additional updates failed to appear.
Now, along with an apology regarding overlooked previous timelines, Arc System Works has confirmed that Season 4 “DLC characters” and “the introduction of ranked matches” will be available for the Switch edition on 18th December 2025. As a reminder, these characters consist of Venom, Unika, and Lucy from the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Here’s a portion of the translated announcement concerning the update and DLC postponement on Switch:
We had originally stated that the game would launch in the fall of 2025, but due to unforeseen complications during the operational testing phase, we have revised the release date. We genuinely apologize to everyone who has been eager for this update for any disruptions caused. The development team is striving diligently to guarantee a high level of quality to enhance the gaming experience for our users.
We hope you keep enjoying GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- Nintendo Switch Edition.
As a reminder, the Switch version of Guilty Gear Strive features 28 playable characters in the standard package, which includes the initial three seasons of the title.
Once this update finally arrives, we’ll provide a reminder.
