We’re commemorating the significant occasion with a nostalgic reflection

20 years, huh, where has the time flown?! Indeed, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console debuted on November 22nd, 2005 – which indicates the system has now reached the venerable milestone of 20. To honor this occasion, we’ve been reflecting on what rendered this gaming device one of the finest – from the system itself to its launch titles and the experiences it provided over the years, the Xbox 360 is undeniably an exceptional console and one worth reminiscing about.

You might have noticed that recently, we kicked off the celebration early here at Pure Xbox! I praised Project Gotham Racing 3 yet again because why wouldn’t I, while Fraser revisited Perfect Dark Zero after more than a decade. We’ve also recently outlined a few of the notable elements we miss from the 360 days in more general terms. You can check out all of those PX features below:

There’s more on the horizon too — including a fun little survey we’re about to release regarding your favorite Xbox 360 launch titles — but for now, we wish to spark some conversation about what this anniversary signifies to you. Do you recall November 22nd, 2005 as if it were yesterday? Did you explore the library later on, possibly through modern Xbox backward compatibility? We want to hear from you!

For us here at the PX offices, Xbox 360 remains something exceptional – it’s the epoch we reflect on most affectionately; a period where Microsoft was excelling in its gaming division. The titles available on it — from both first and third-party — were predominantly outstanding, the controller was fantastic and continues to be among the best available, and overall, we just have wonderful memories of being Xbox enthusiasts during that era. The system had its flaws, of course (who could forget the RROD and those unusual Kinect years?), but it symbolizes a period where Xbox truly dominated the gaming landscape.

So, what does Xbox 360 and this milestone signify to you? Feel free to engage with us about that in the comments, and stay tuned for numerous other 360 stories here on Pure Xbox!
