Ouch

As per GSD sales statistics for Europe – which includes both physical and digital sales across several prominent countries, such as France, Germany, and the UK – Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is experiencing a challenging launch.
The findings indicate that its initial week is an astonishing 63% below Battlefield 6, and over 50% lower in comparison to last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
While it still managed to be the top-selling game for the week ending 16th November, these figures will be devastating for Activision, who previously hinted that the franchise is “too big to fail.”
Clearly, we still require global statistics, but we know that on Steam the game has recorded significantly fewer concurrent players than its forerunner. Meanwhile, the publisher’s own statement regarding the launch omitted any performance indicators altogether.

All attention will now focus on the US, and whether Black Ops 7 has fared better there. We know Battlefield 6 has already been a tremendous success in America, so it’s going to be intriguing to see if Call of Duty can catch up.
The major concern for Activision is that it won’t have an easy task in 2026 either: GTA 6 is scheduled for release on 19th November, and even if next year’s Call of Duty game debuts earlier than anticipated, the Rockstar release will absorb a lot of attention.
At this juncture, we anticipate significant markdowns of Black Ops 7 during the Christmas season, as the publisher will need to devise a strategy to rectify this situation.
