Now that Kirby Air Riders has been unleashed to the public (and is genuinely quite excellent), gamers have been inventing all kinds of unofficial air-riding amusement in the game’s surprisingly effective vehicle customization mode.

Inside this mode, you can pick any of your acquired vehicles (so ensure to check our guide on how to unlock everything in the game) to create designs using all the shapes, stickers, icons, and more that you earn through the game’s activities.

In this guide, we’ve compiled our favorite vehicle designs observed in the user-generated content shop. Indeed, as noted, Nintendo has even gotten involved due to some bikini-clad…is that…Chef Kawasaki?!

Therefore, since everyone has been so eager to start creating, here’s the finest community-designed vehicles we’ve encountered thus far. We’ll enhance this guide with additional entries as we discover them.

Kirby Air Riders: Top Custom Machines

Mario & Companions

Possibly the category with the most submissions so far, we have Mushroom Kingdom inhabitants coming out of the woodwork here. Special mention goes to the fantastic Captain Toad and that DK creation.

Minecraft

Indeed. The creepers have arrived.

Nintendo Consoles

Naturally, we were going to see some accolades for Nintendo consoles throughout the years, and the diverse Machine shapes are fitting quite well for this purpose. It appears Wagon Star serves as a remarkable base for GameCubes!

Pokémon

Another rather predictable choice, and we must admit, we’re fond of the Poké Ball here, some impressive craftsmanship.

Spongebob Squarepants & Co.

Yes, it’s yet another animated series that seems impossible to eliminate (not that we’d wish to, we adore SpongeBob), and there’s already a plethora of Patricks available to choose from, some more scantily clad than others.

The Simpsons

Although its writing quality may have plummeted in recent episodes, The Simpsons still possesses significant drawing power and is proving extremely popular in the initial stages of vehicle customization.

Take a look, here’s Lisa, trapped beneath an engine, and Homer with a head resembling a star!

And now for something entirely different…

As we’ve mentioned, Nintendo has been cracking down, so there isn’t too much outrageous material out there just yet. However, we do have some inquiries regarding a few of these:

How can I access and purchase Custom Machines?

To discover community-designed machines in Kirby Air Riders for yourself, you’ll need to:

  • Navigate to the Connect settings in the game’s menu, as illustrated below
  • Enter the Machine Market and decide whether you want to list your creation (more details on that shortly) or purchase someone else’s unique design

Once inside the market, you can:

  • Choose to filter your search by machine type, so you solely see designs for the one you desire, or filter by popularity, price, or friends-only creations
  • There’s also a ID Search function that can be utilized by both buyers and sellers!

Machines all require coins, which you earn in-game, and the price varies from some outrageously costly 300,000 coin creations to the most bargain-basement deals you can envision.

How can I make my own Custom Machines?

Now, if you’re anything like us, you’ll already be eager to dive in and create your own designs to sell. Hey, this could develop into a very enjoyable hobby just to accumulate as many coins as possible. So how do you get started?

First, head to the extras menu in the game, then proceed to My Machine.

Once in this area, you’ll get to select from your available crafts before entering the creation suite.

Here you have access to any and all accessories, decals, sounds, effects, and patterns you’ve unlocked through gameplay (or purchased in the Miles Shop).

All that’s left is some inspiration!
